What is a Park Home

Park homes are usually detached pre-fabricated bungalow-type buildings in small private estates. These estates can be found in a variety of locations, from rural to urban.

Although a park home may have started off as a mobile home on wheels (the bigger ones can be two 36' x 10' or 40' x 12' units bolted together), once on site they are fully 'built-in' in a permanent way with brick foundations and drains, and connected to all mains services.

They will typically have lounge with dining area, fitted kitchen and bathroom, and from one to three bedrooms. There is a vast choice of internal layouts available, and if buying a new home from the manufacturer, you may even be able to specify your ideal arrangement of rooms and facilities.

Park homes are fully insulated with double-glazing and central heating. They will come complete with car parking space and a small surrounding garden, usually already landscaped and easy to maintain. In fact, taking a walk around a park home estate, you would find it quite difficult to spot that they are not traditional 'bricks and mortar' buildings.
